MyJDownloader Browser Extension is a brilliant browser enhancer. The plug-in is specially made for Firefox and has to be used as a browser manager for your downloads. It will redirect all files you download in the JDownloader client app. If you want to find out more about JDownloader, click here.
I'm trying JDownloader as an external download manager. I remember Flashgot was what you need to integrate external download managers with Firefox but it also is not available in Firefox 57+. There are some extensions available out there but I don't know which one should I use. Other suggestions for download managers are also welcomed. By default, JDownloader will use your OS' default browser to solve browser captchas so in order to use another browser for captcha solving all you have to do is to change your default browser. However, some users prefer to- or have to use another browser to solve browser-captchas than their OS' default browser.
This Firefox plug-in is mandatory to be used with its desktop counterpart. In order to get started, you must have the JDownloader program installed and an account set; you can either opt for the free or the paid version. The extension comes at no costs and a premium service can only be acquired and managed via a desktop app. After adding the extension to your browser, you must use your app's credentials to log in.
As soon as you finalize the connection, your machine's name (e.g. [email protected]) will be recognized by the extension. From that point on, every time you click the extension, the dropdown will display the status of your downloads, if any. From any page you navigate, you can redirect the download of any element/item/resource you find straight into your desktop application. How do you do that? Right-click any downloadable item and select 'Download with JDownloader'.
MyJDownloader is a super-cool enhancer. It allows downloading multiple resources at once, simultaneously, by establishing a priority queue where the user selects, for each element, a level of priority. All downloads can be temporarily paused, restarted, or definitively stopped. The super-smart extension comes packed with many features and options.
For example, you change triggers and manipulate how requests are sent through MyJDownloader, define your context menus, and even enable a clipboard observer that tracks links in your selections. When selected, a link's contents can be downloaded or the URL can be bookmarked. For every element you download, you can rewrite the metadata values or use the default values; additionally, you can overwrite packager rules or deep decrypt the files.
In conclusion, this free extension and its desktop counterpart are an amazing combination. They integrate perfectly, the connection does not break, the downloads are executed fast and well, and multiple requests and triggers have adjustable functionings. MyJDownloader is a useful, practical, and well-built browser enhancer, and it is totally worth installing it.
